The car is finished!

After spending some more time refining the look of the car and adding wheels, I had finally finished it.

This is how the final result looked

I then sent this final model to Mike after cleaning up the model by freezing transformations and deleting contruction history. The feedback is gave me was really helpful as I thought the model was pretty good for a first time attempt. He said that because the way how the model was made it looked more like a plush toy car, rather than a real one. I agree with this completely but to make it more realistic it would have required more poly's which he did not want.

I think in the end he didn't use it in his final animation but at least I tried, and I'm very proud of it.

Its looking more like a car!

Over a few more days I spent some more time on this model trying to quickly get it finished ready for when  Mike needed it.

I started making it more of a car shape by adding the shape at the front and the bumper indents.

After adding colour and some more accessories such as wing mirrors and door handles I this is how it looked.

Now i just needed to add the wheels

Mike emailed me! Uh oh...

After I had been working hard on Liam's scenes, I got an email from Mike asking how far i had got with the model, and if he could have it as soon as possible. This was a problem because i hadn't worked on it in a few weeks.

I then started working on the car model again, and began to try and create some form of windows for it.

This is what i managed to create in a few hours.

Using the same Technique i started to make door shapes.

Inking Larry and Frog finished

During the easter holidays I tried to get these scenes finished in around 2 weeks, they were fairly easy as they each only had around 20-30 frames.

Overall the 2D inking process for Liam was fairly easy and quite fun to see how the characters come to life after adding colour. I was also fascinated at how well the characters were animated.

More 2D inking

After sending Liam both my completed inked files, he was quite impressed and he wanted me to do some more.  This time he gave my another larry scene (where this time he is pulling) and a frog leap scene.

Colouring Larry

I started working on the larry scene, this was very tedious because it had a lot of frames, and required different colours, for each separate body parts.

I would say this took me 3 weeks worth of sessions to complete. The process was fairly straight forward although I was a bit confused what colour the legs would be since they were a lot wider than the ones in original reference image.

How I did the legs originally

How I changed them to all the same colour

This is the final larry scene inked

Frog scene

I decided to start inking the frog scene first as i only had about 6 frames and was quite excited to see what it would look like.

I would say it took me about 2-3 sessions to complete this.
