I emailed two people who I could potentially help with their work.
First I emailed Liam, who is working on an animation called "Eagles are Jerks". This is all 2D animation drawn frame by frame in Flash. I asked him if i could do some digital inking for him and he said he would be happy for me to do that.
Now I'm just waiting for him to set up a meeting so I can do some of his work that he's already animated - and ready to be digitally inked.
I also emailed Mike Chawner who is working on some sneaking ninja animation using the Goon rig. I was quite interested in this because I have used that rig myself for my earlier animation, and wanted to see how he worked with his and adapted it. This animation is going to be created all in Maya - a 3D animation program.
